The flexibility of the course schedule, interesting course modules with up-to-date course content and strong recommendations of friends who had attended the program were the key reasons for choosing HSEEE. My job was previously a regional role that required a lot of travelling. So the availability of weekend classes and the school's emphasis on applied rather than theoretical type of study suited me and was what I needed for my work.

I enjoyed the lectures and assignments, and networking with faculty and course-mates from different cultures, countries and market sectors. In particular, I learnt about my weaknesses and strengths and acquired skills to overcome these weaknesses and enhance my strengths, enabling me to realize my potential and turning risks into opportunities.

The HSE Executive MBA international focus helped to further enhance and broaden my understanding of global business. Whilst undertaking the Executive MBA in 2006/2007, it provided new ideas and insights that were immediately applicable to help me to magnify my impact on my business, transforming the operations into a profitable and sustainable business. I am sure that it would continue to help me to stimulate, identify, generate and implement new ideas and opportunities for myself and my business for many years to come.

After approximately 15 years of working, it was time was for me to refresh and renew my competencies and knowledge.  I realised quickly that this would be possible only with an executive MBA program which is not just academically oriented but have relevance to the current business context.  After my first few modules where I learnt about sunk and opportunity cost, I started to think – would this investment of time, effort and money for the HSE EMBA be a sunk cost? What is the opportunity cost I would have to pay by foregoing the weekends for the next 18 months? Will this investment result in positive NPV?  Well, as I near the end of this learning journey, I can say that this investment is indeed worth every dollar and minute spent.

There are three aspects of this program which sustained the excitement and momentum. One, the faculties from eminent business schools provided up-to-date industry happenings, management techniques with relevant case studies and adequate coaching. The in-class discussions facilitated by the professors were very conducive to learning and stimulated in-depth analysis of various topics among the participants. Truly a worthwhile experience! A must for today’s global business manager. Next, the in-class dynamics of experienced professionals of various nationalities and work experiences made the discussions lot livelier and enriching. This diversity really helped the classroom dynamics and brought diverse viewpoints to the discussions. This, to me, is what I deem as real education. The EMBA is also about networking and the HSE EMBA participant profile is truly one that is helpful in future for all.
Finally, the HSE EMBA modules were just apt for today’s business needs with a good mix of concepts and practice. The overall structure of the program is such that a busy executive like me can cope with the demands of the program. The right balance of reading materials, pre-class preparation and exams – helped me to personally manage my studies and maintained a steady momentum.

Overall, in the end I felt that the program is worth every penny and minute spent and the amount of learning is significant.
